What's On My Calendar
Camarillo Air Show - August 21st & 22nd
The 2010 Wings over Camarillo Airshow will celebrate the 30th anniversary of air shows at Camarillo Airport.
Planned is an expanded flight demonstration program, the airshow will feature aerobatics performances and will also include flights by experimental and classic planes and the ever popular war birds.
The CAF Inland Empire Wing, to which I belong, will be attending Wings over Camarillo, with our three CAF aircraft and PX. I hope to be able to attend as well and help the wing.
French Valley Airport Open House - Sept 25th
The CAF Inland Empire Wing, to which I belong, is planning on attending the French Valley Airport Open House on September 25th. I can not say for sure, but I plan on attending so that I can help with the PX or what ever else I might be needed for. I have never attended this event before so it will be another new experience for me.
AirSho 2010 - Oct 9th & 10th
Each year the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) hosts “AirSho”. AirSho is a two day event, held on the CAF Headquarters home field at Midland International Airport, between Midland and Odessa, Texas. AirSho is the annual event where all the CAF wings, across the country, can get together and display their wing’s aircraft, catch up with other members and talk about aircraft stuff.
The CAF Inland Empire Wing, to which I belong, attends AirSho each year and makes an event of flying our three CAF aircraft to AirSho, accompanied by other local CAF aircraft and member’s personal aircraft as well, in what they call a “Gaggle” flight.
This year I get to attend AirSho and hope to be able to fly along in the Gaggle flight. My parents will be attending AirSho as well however, will be chasing the Gaggle flight, on the ground, on their motorcycle. The Gaggle Flight is a two day flight, each way, and from the stories I have heard, are always filled with fun and adventure. I can’t wait to go. Flabob Veterans Day Celibration - Nov 6th
Come visit Historic Flabob Airport on Saturday, November 6, 2010. Enjoy great events, displays, vendors, music and food. From 9:00an to 4:00pm.
Flabob Airport Open House - 3rd Saturday of each month
On the third Saturday of every month Flabob hosts a pancake breakfast, with $5 breakfasts from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., and featuring tours of hangars, our DC-3, a car show, and other happenings at Flabob.
